“Killing Joke” Gets A DC Animated Film

Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that the next of its animated DC Universe Original Movie titles will be an adaptation of Alan Moore’s legendary comic “Batman: The Killing Joke”.

Bruce W. Timm will executive produce the film which will sport “an original 15-minute prologue that helps set up the story, giving even longtime fans of the story something new to look forward to.”

The comic itself deals with an apparent origin story for The Joker, and the shooting in which Barbara Gordon is paralyzed and changes from Batgirl into Oracle. No voice cast members were announced for the new film, only a general 2016 release date.

Two other animated films were announced at the panel including the original story “Batman: Bad Blood” which introduces Batwoman, and “Justice League vs. Titans” which introduces the Teen Titans to the DC Universe Original Movies line-up.
