NEW AVENGERS TRAILER
All I can say is…damn.
New Avengers Poster
So the news that has been circling around today has been about the title change for the upcoming movie, The Avengers. In the UK the title has been changed to Avengers Assemble. The name change comes about in order to avoid any confusion with the 60′s TV series as well as the 1998 movie of the same name. Apparently, the UK fears any misleading assumptions that may cause movie goers over to believe that John Steed and Emma Peel are making a come back.
The other new bit of news in Avenger-land is the release of the new poster. While it’s cool to see the cover of some many comics books coming to life, this just screams photoshop and kind of leaves me with a not so happy feeling.
Guy Pearce Goes Viral For “Prometheus”
Ridley Scott and Fox used this years TED conference and official site as the launching pad for this inventive viral video from the upcoming “Prometheus”.
The clip shows Guy Pearce as his character Peter Weyland addressing the conferences 2023 session. Theres even a bio on the guy:
“Peter Weyland has been a magnet for controversy since he announced his intent to build the first convincingly humanoid robotic system by the end of the decade.
Whether challenging the ethical boundaries of medicine with nanotechnology or going toe to toe with the Vatican itself on the issue of gene-therapy sterilization, Sir Peter prides himself on his motto, “If we can, we must.” After a three year media blackout, Weyland has finally emerged to reveal where he’s heading next. Wherever that may be, we will most certainly want to follow.”
Pearce has previously mentioned his role is only a cameo, and this suggests his scenes take place nearly two centuries before the main events in the film do. Certainly its years before Weyland-Yutani became the all encompassing company of the “Alien” universe.
Scribe Damon Lindelof also talked about the experience writing for “Prometheus” and coming up with this spot.

Universal And Marc Forster Team On Cowboy Ninja Viking
Universal Pictures has acquired the action film Cowboy Ninja Viking and has Marc Forster ready to make the graphic novel adaptation his next film. The graphic novel and a Disney-developed script by Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese were acquired by Universal after the script came in and was deemed too edgy for Disney’s family film mandate. The intention is to begin production later this year, after Forster completes the Brad Pitt-starrer World War Z for Paramount and Skydance. The hope is to spawn a franchise.

Cowboy Ninja Viking is based on the Image Comics graphic novel by AJ Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo. The title character comes from a secret government program to turn schizophrenics into assassins. The protagonist comes through the program with the skill sets of a cowboy, ninja and a viking. While most of the patients involved in the program are sent back to insane asylum after the program went awry in Iraq, he escapes and uses his skills to track down the billionaire who masterminded the program.
The film will be produced by Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner, Mark Gordon and Bryan Zuriff through MG360, the joint venture between The Mark Gordon Co and Management 360. Wernick & Reese are also producing. The scribes are repped by WME, and Forster by CAA and Management 360.
Forster’s zombie apocalypse World War Z will be released by Paramount on December 21, 2012.
This is the second time that Universal has gotten a Disney-developed fast tracked project that was based on a graphic novel. The studio is about to start production on Oblivion, the Joseph Kosinski-directed post-apocalyptic thriller that stars Tom Cruise. Like Cowboy Ninja Viking, Disney let it go and was reimbursed its development costs. In the case of the latter film, the producers got a short window to shop the project and if they weren’t successful, Disney would have redeveloped it.

“Batman: Gotham by Gaslight” Game Footage Surfaces – Comic Book Resources
There have been many provocative tales featuring Batman over the years, but one that stands out for many longtime fans of the Dark Knight is “Gotham By Gaslight,” an Elseworlds tale from the creative team of Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola. The 1989 one-shot placed Bruce Wayne and his alter-ego in 1889, pitting him head-to-head against one of the most notorious killers of that time: Jack the Ripper. It made for a fascinating and rather popular story, spawning a sequel, several toys and statues over the years — and, at one point in time, it was the subject of a potential video game.
Siliconera has posted video footage for a pitch for a game based on “Gotham by Gaslight” put together by Day 1 Studios, the team behind “F.3.A.R.” and “Fracture.” The game would have been an adaptation of the comic’s story, placing the player in Batman’s shoes as you attempted to solve the mystery of and stop the murders in Gotham City by Jack the Ripper.

David Morrissey Is The Governor In The Walking Dead Season Three | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
Season Two of The Walking Dead is still far from over, but with the third season long since greenlit AMC are eager to start putting together plans for the show’s future. So far the show has loosely stuck to the plot of the comics, and it seems as though this trend will continue as the iconic character of the Governor has just been cast.
