Marvel TV Show Live-Action Updates on THE INCREDIBLE HULK, AKA JESSICA JONES and THE PUNISHER

One of the executive producers of Ultimate Spider-Man for Marvel Universe on Disney XD, Jeph Loeb is the Emmy-nominated and Eisner Award-winning writer and producer who is currently the Executive Vice President and Head of Marvel Television, responsible for all live-action comedy and drama, as well as animation. So, when we spoke with him earlier today about the compelling new action-adventure animated series, featuring a teenage Peter Parker (voiced by Drake Bell) juggling the challenges of high school with being a superhero, we were curious about an update on the status of the live-action series that he currently has in development.

While we will run what he had to say about the new animation series, closer to its April 1st premiere, we did want to post what he had to say about how The Hulk, Aka Jessica Jones and The Punisher are coming along for ABC, as well as the development of Mockingbird and Cloak and Dagger for ABC Family. Check out what he had to say after the jump:

For those keeping track, it’s been three decades since the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno series, The Incredible Hulk, went off the air in 1982. When last talked about, Guillermo del Toro and Battlestar Galactica executive producer David Eick were working together to crack the original story with Bruce Banner being in his mid-20?s. The Punisher is about one man waging his own war on crime. Aka Jessica Jones is based on the comic book Alias, about a failed superhero who is rebuilding her life as a private detective in New York City.

Cloak and Dagger is about two teenagers who find each other and realize that their powers both compliment and complicate their lives. Mockingbird would detail the life of a freshman at a prestigious university who is a science major that is recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. and forced to become a student by day and a super-spy by night.

Collider: Jeph, can you update the status of the live-action series that you have in development?

JEPH LOEB: All I can tell you is that, right now, the three shows that we have in active development at ABC are The Incredible Hulk, aka Jessica Jones, which comic book fans will know as Alias, and The Punisher. And then, we have two shows that are already at ABC Family, which are Mockingbird and Cloak & Dagger. They’re just in development. As you know, as with anything that you’re doing, particularly when you’re starting up a brand new entity, things take time and we want to make sure we get it right.
