Review: Atomic Robo – The Dogs Of War

Giant mechs, reanimated super soldiers, secret Nazi projects.

You know you are in for a good read when these phrases are involved.  Atomic Robo – The Dogs Of War by Red 5 comics is a fun read that continues the adventures of the eponymous title character.  Robo find himself enlisted into service during World War 2 as a special operative for the US government as a condition to gaining full citizenship.  Dropped behind enemy lines during the Invasion of Sicily, Robo must track down and destroy Nazi war machines called the Laufpanzers before they can be used to turn the tide of battle.

Forming a tenuous partnership with British spy the Sparrow, Robo goes behind enemy lines to unravel a sinister plot involving the creation of Nazi super soldiers and winds up being the target of an even more secret project…

ARTDOW is fun with witty dialogue written by Brian Clevinger and the art style by Scott Wegener is very engaging, with Robo himself being half wisecracker and half bad ass.  pick this story up, you wont be disappointed.
