Dark Horse Comics is teaming up with Universal Cable Productions to adapt some of their library comic titles for television. The first batch of comics set to get the small screen treatment will include the following titles:<\/p>\n

The Umbrella Academy<\/strong>: Created by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, the comic follows the reunion of the estranged members of a dysfunctional family of superheroes with bizarre powers who must now save the world.<\/p>\n

Harrow County<\/strong>: Based on Cullen Bunn’s just published work, the story follows a teenage girl who learns she is connected to the sinister woodland creatures that populate the dark woods surrounding her home because she is the reincarnation of a witch who died the day she was born.<\/p>\n

Back Up<\/strong>: Based on a film script by Tom Vaughn, the story is set in a near future where technology allows people to be backed up, much like hard drives, in a way that helps them protect themselves against death.<\/p>\n

Concrete<\/strong>: The Eisner Award-winning title by Paul Chadwick, the story follows a man who awakens to find his subconscious transplanted into a hulking stone body.<\/p>\n

UCP will collaborate with Dark Horse to develop “character driven concepts for television intended to resonate with their current fan base”.<\/p>\n
