Waypoint Entertainment<\/a> has acquired movie rights to the coming-of-age comic series \u201cPlutona<\/a>,\u201d written by Jeff Lemire and illustrated by Emi Lenox.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlutona\u201d centers on a group of kids who find the body of a famous dead superhero in the woods. Waypoint Entertainment\u2019s Ken Kao (\u201cThe Nice Guys\u201d) will produce with partner Dan Kao and Addictive Pictures\u2019 Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder under their first-look deal.<\/p>\n

Image Comics released \u201cPlutona,\u201d a five-issue limited series, in September.<\/p>\n

Lemire is the author of the Essex County Trilogy, \u201cSweet Tooth,\u201d \u201cThe Nobody\u201d and a run of \u201cAnimal Man.\u201d Lenox is known for her diary comic \u201cEmitown.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
