The CW has released the first poster for \u201cConstantine,\u201d the upcoming animated short form series for CW Seed based on the DC \u201cHellblazer\u201d comics.<\/p>\n

Matt Ryan starred as the titular John Constantine in the live-action NBC series based on the property several years ago, a show that\u2019s now available on CW Seed. Ryan reprised the role in a fourth season episode of \u201cArrow\u201d and here he returns to the role, providing the voice for the five to six ten-minute episodes which will premiere in 2018.<\/p>\n

In the episodes, the seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult uses his skills to face the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows\u2026 maybe there\u2019s hope for him after all.<\/p>\n

David S. Goyer, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter are producing the episodes which Doug Murphy will direct.<\/p>\n

That isn\u2019t the only upcoming animated title based on a DC Comics property that released a poster today. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment have unveiled a new one-sheet for the recently announced \u201cBatman Ninja,\u201d an original animated feature coming to Blu-ray, DVD and VOD in 2018.<\/p>\n

Jumpei Mizusaki (\u201cJojo\u2019s Bizarre Adventure\u201d) helms the project which is done in an anime style and screened a brief bit of footage at New York Comic Con this week to rave reaction. Kazuki Nakashima (\u201cKamen Rider Fourze\u201d) penned the script and Takashi Okazaki (\u201cAfro Samurai\u201d) is the character designer.<\/p>\n
