Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy was on hand to unveil the first trailer for the first live-action \u201cStar Wars\u201d series \u201cThe Mandalorian\u201d which has now gone online.<\/p>\n

The series is set five years after the events of \u201cReturn of the Jedi\u201d, the three decade stretch of storyline \u201cthat hasn\u2019t been explored at all, except in the Extended Universe says showrunner Jon Favreau.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a galaxy still adapting to the sudden fall of the tyrannical Empire with no central government and gunfighters roaming the galaxy. The series is said to be inspired by the old samurai and western movies and aims for a production quality that will match that of the movies.<\/p>\n

Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte co-star in the series along with the voice of Taika Waititi.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, Favreau told media don\u2019t expect to see Boba Fett in it: \u201cBoba Fett is not [in this]. They\u2019re all-new, original characters.\u201d That\u2019s not to say there aren\u2019t easter eggs for fans including a rifle from the holiday special which was Boba Fett\u2019s first appearance: \u201cwe have lots of deep cuts in the show and I can\u2019t wait for people who love Star Wars to see it,\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Mandalorian\u201d debuts November 12th on Disney+.<\/p>\n
