Paramount Pictures has announced it\u2019s planning an R-rated live-action feature film adaptation of the acclaimed IDW comic title \u201cTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin\u201d from 2020.<\/p>\n

The comic mini-series tells a dark, mature story that unfolds in a future in which all but one of the Ninja Turtles is dead.<\/p>\n

New York City is now a battle-ravaged wasteland and the lone surviving turtle embarks on a seemingly hopeless mission seeking justice for the family he lost.<\/p>\n

He fights Shredder\u2019s grandson and his synthetic minions with all four turtles\u2019 signature weapons.<\/p>\n

Tyler Burton Smith (\u201cBoy Kills World\u201d) is penning the script for the film whilst Walter Hamada is producing as part of his multi-year deal with the studio.<\/p>\n

The news comes in the wake of last Summer\u2019s acclaimed animated \u201cTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem\u201d film and the successful \u201cShredder\u2019s Revenge\u201d video game.<\/p>\n
