Jason Patric <\/strong>is making his first dip into the world of TV and is in\u00a0negotiations to star in\u00a0Powers<\/em>, FX\u2019s adaptation of the\u00a0Brian Michael Bendis-Michael Avon Oeming<\/strong> comic book.<\/p>\n

Sony Pictures Television is behind the pilot, which is being produced by\u00a0Circle of Confusion and directed by\u00a0Michael Dinner.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Patric will play Christian Walker,\u00a0a cop who works in the Powers division of the police force and deals with crimes involving those endowed with special abilities.<\/p>\n

The first story in the\u00a0Powers<\/em> comic, which is serving as the basis for the pilot, involves the murder of Retro Girl, a superpowered celebrity. Walker, who gets paired up with a rookie on the case, is determined to\u00a0track down the killer even if it costs him his badge.<\/p>\n

Patric will join a cast that so far includes\u00a0Lucy Punch<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Charles S. Dutton <\/strong>and Bailee\u00a0Madison.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Patric has always skewed toward the offbeat in his movie career, starring in films ranging from\u00a0The Lost Boys<\/em> and\u00a0Rush<\/em> to\u00a0In the Valley of Elah <\/em>and comic book movie\u00a0The Losers.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
