Six months ago came news that Ridley Scott was committing to both direct and produce a new installment of “Blade Runner” for Alcon Entertainment.<\/p>\n

The general word was that this wasn’t a sequel but rather a completely different story albeit set in the same style universe, much like the way Scott’s upcoming “Prometheus” ties in with “Alien”. Of course with that film, the more we see of it the more it appears to be a prequel.<\/p>\n

Now, Twitchfilm<\/a> has heard an interesting rumor – “Harrison Ford has entered into early talks to join the new Blade Runner\u2026 this is still very early stages and it is quite possible that things won’t work out.”<\/p>\n

Ford of course played Deckard, the lead character in Scott’s 1982 original classic. Though he could be playing an entirely different character, Twitch says “the obvious implication is that what we are looking at is not a reboot but a direct sequel to the original.” Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove will produce.<\/p>\n

Alcon Entertainment has denied online reports that original star Harrison Ford is in early talks to return as replicant hunter Rick Deckard in Ridley Scott’s upcoming follow-up to the 1982 science fiction classic “Blade Runner” reports\u00a0Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Alcon’s Andrew Kosove says \u201cIt is absolutely patently false that there has been any discussion about Harrison Ford being in Blade Runner. To be clear, what we are trying to do with Ridley now is go through the painstaking process of trying to break the back of the story, figure out the direction we\u2019re going to take the movie and find a writer to work on it. The casting of the movie could not be further from our minds at this moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked straight up if Ford could re-appear, Kosove says \u201cIn advance of knowing what we\u2019re going to do, I supposed you could say yes, he could. But I think it is quite unlikely.\u201d He goes on to say \u201cWhat Ridley does in Prometheus is a good template for what we\u2019re trying to do.
