Although ABC passed on AKA Jessica Jones, the pilot based on Alias by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, the project\u2019s producer insists the Marvel drama still has life in it.<\/p>\n

\u201cMarvel is trying to set it up somewhere else,\u201d Melissa Rosenberg told IGN at the Television Critics Association\u2019s winter tour. \u201cThey\u2019re looking at a lot of different possibilities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Announced in December 2010, AKA Jessica Jones centered an embittered former superheroine who, after a traumatic experience, gives up her costumed identity and opens a detective agency. However, once she settles in, she discovers her services are sought by clients with superhero connections. Melissa Rosenberg, best known for her work on the Twilight franchise and Showtime\u2019s Dexter, had said her pilot script included Luke Cage and Carol Danvers in prominent supporting roles.<\/p>\n

While she acknowledged the possibility the drama could end up back at ABC, Marvel\u2019s corporate sibling, Rosenberg told IGN it may be better suited for cable television. \u201cI don\u2019t know if it\u2019s an ABC show,\u201d she said. \u201cIt might be a cable show, really. The graphic novel is the first one that Marvel did that was meant to serve an adult audience. I toned it down a little bit for network, but it\u2019s very, very easy to translate that into cable. Very easy. God I love that project […] it\u2019s one of my favorite things that I\u2019ve ever written.\u201d<\/p>\n

ABC is fast-tracking Joss Whedon\u2019s S.H.I.E.L.D., which centers on the Marvel Universe\u2019s global espionage and law-enforcement agency, with the pilot set to begin filming Jan. 22. However, the planned revival of The Incredible Hulk, the first live-action Marvel television project announced following its purchase by Disney, appears to be in limbo, with co-producer Guillermo del Toro revealing recently that, \u201cI haven\u2019t heard anything in months about the show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of the three other announced Marvel projects, Punisher was rejected by Fox, while Cloak & Dagger and Mockingbird have yet to materialize on ABC Family.<\/p>\n
