Warner Bros. Pictures is moving up development of “Sleeper,” a film adaptation of the Ed Brubaker-written comic which began in 2003.<\/p>\n

Set in a noir universe, the story deals with a few people who spontaneously developing superpowers. One of them is Holden Carver, a man who can absorb pain and pass it on to others.<\/p>\n

He infiltrates a criminal organization on behalf of a law enforcement agency, but his allegiances soon come into question. No director or actors are yet attached.<\/p>\n

Shawn Ryan “Last Resort” and David Wiener “The Killing” have been brought on board to pen the adaptation. Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Jennifer Todd will produce.<\/p>\n

Sam Raimi and Tom Cruise were attached to a previous incarnation of the project.<\/p>\n
