Sony Pictures Television is developing an hour-long TV series adaptation of Avon Oeming’s comic book series “Powers”. Said series would then exclusively premiere via streaming on the PlayStation Network, the first of several planned series for the service.<\/p>\n

Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming penned the comic which follows two detectives as they investigate superhero-related homicides. Lucy Punch and Jason Patric starred in an ultimately rejected pilot for a TV version several years ago.<\/p>\n

This is separate from a planned online pay-TV service for the console, which would offer traditional TV channels available through cable, satellite or phone companies over the Internet.<\/p>\n

At this point, there has been so much heartbreak over whether or not this series will see any sort of braodcast, that I won’t hold my breath until I see it on my tv.<\/em><\/p>\n
