According to First Showing, the studio casting grid has listed The Riddler as a character for Christopher Nolan's Batman 3. Also, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is listed as "interested" to play the character. Apparently this should be taken as confirmation that The Riddler will be the villain in Batman 3, *not* that Gordon-Levitt will definitely play him. Thoughts?

I've seen some of Gordon-Levitt's indie films and honestly, though he does look younger than many people may think The Riddler should, I think he could pull it off. I'm definitely interested in finding out more. And cannot wait to see Batman 3!

I'm open to this... That would be interesting if it's true.  He's only 4 years younger than me, and there's no telling what sort of background will be provided for the character considering the previous two films- it could be anything!  He's got a substantial career behind him and he's already established himself in the geek culture with a few of his previous jobs so I don't see why not.  I know we all tend to be a little hyper critical of the many incarnations of Batman but I have faith in Christopher Nolan to bring it home for us.

I LOVE J Gordon.  He was awesome in Brick and The Lookout.  I would love to see him as the Riddler.  But at the same time, an evil sick and sadistic Robin Williams would make my seat moist.

My vote is for Robin Williams. It would be a nice combo of his comedic self, and all the weird drama psycho roles he's been taking lately.
