Fox21 Television Studios has reportedly optioned the rights to Jim Butcher\u2019s long-running contemporary fantasy novel series \u201cThe Dresden Files\u201d with plans to develop a series.<\/p>\n

The story follows private investigator and wizard Harry Dresden, as he recounts investigations into supernatural disturbances in modern-day Chicago in his job as the world\u2019s only \u2018consulting wizard\u2019.<\/p>\n

He accepts supernatural cases from both human and nonhuman clients, as well as the Chicago PD\u2019s Special Investigation unit and takes on an increasingly important role in the supernatural world at large.<\/p>\n

Ileen Maisel and Temple Hill Entertainment are reportedly producing the series which won\u2019t be linked to the previous 2007 adaptation which starred \u201cArrow\u2019 actor Paul Blackthorne in the title role.<\/p>\n
