Fox<\/a>\u00a0has given a script commitment to\u00a0Elfquest<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0a one-hour animated drama series based on the epic fantasy adventure comic series created by Wendy and Richard Pini, from Rodney Rothman and Adam Rosenberg\u2019s\u00a0Modern Magic<\/a>.\u00a0Susan Hurwitz Arneson<\/a>\u00a0(The Last Amazon<\/em>) will pen the series adaptation and serve as showrunner and executive producer.<\/p>\n

Created in 1978,\u00a0Elfquest,\u00a0<\/em>published by Dark Horse Comics, is a fantasy story about a community of elves and other fictional species who struggle to survive and coexist on a primitive Earth-like planet with two moons.<\/p>\n

Rothman and Rosenberg will executive produce for Modern Magic, along with Arneson and Wendy and Richard Pini.\u00a0Bento Box Entertainment<\/a>\u00a0is the studio.<\/p>\n

\u201cElfQuest couldn\u2019t be in better hands,\u201d said Wendy and Richard Pini in a statement to Deadline. \u201cOur collaborators trust the story. We have the highest regard for their previous\u00a0achievements, and they have our blessing and input. We know their adaptation of ElfQuest will be a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arneson most recently served as showrunner and executive producer on\u00a0The Last Amazon<\/em>\u00a0for Netflix. Before that, she was a co-executive producer on Netflix\u2019s\u00a0Magic Order.\u00a0<\/em>On the feature side, she is currently writing\u00a0Hungry Ghosts<\/em>\u00a0for Sony Animation, with Charlie Bean attached to direct. Arnevitz began her career on\u00a0South Park<\/em>, where she staffed for six seasons. In-between her time on\u00a0Malibu Country<\/em>\u00a0(ABC),\u00a0Mr. Robinson\u00a0<\/em>(NBC) and\u00a0Bordertown\u00a0<\/em>(Fox), Arneson has developed with Blumhouse, Sony TV Animation, Fox Animation, and MTV. She also previously served as a co-executive producer on\u00a0The Continental<\/em>\u00a0for Starz\/Lionsgate,\u00a0The Tick\u00a0<\/em>for Amazon, and\u00a0Preacher<\/em>\u00a0for AMC. She is repped by Verve and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.<\/p>\n
