“Anchorman” director Adam McKay says that the previously dead adaptation of the comic “The Boys” may have come back from the dead.<\/p>\n

McKay, who became attached to the project last March, recently tweeted that Paramount has picked up the property. Said tweet was quickly removed.<\/p>\n

The comic follows the adventures of a CIA squad, known informally as “the boys,” whose job it is to keep watch on the proliferation of superheroes and, if necessary, intimidate or eliminate them.<\/p>\n

A film version has been in the works since 2009 and was last setup at Sony Pictures where it fell through due to it being a $100 million, R-rated, anti-superhero project – a tough sell even in good economic times.<\/p>\n

Seth Rogen, Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay have previously tinkered on the script.<\/p>\n
