Adventures at San Diego Comic-Con 2016; Day 1

Today started like every year; long lines, people everywhere, and just the right amount of awesome to make it ok.

The new RFID badges have made it much quicker and easier to get and out of the Convention Center and the crowds seemed less compacted.  Since today was our first day, it was short due to hotel check-ins and other things.

Even for a short day, we still saw some awesome cosplay and booths inside the exhibitor hall. We had to sign a waiver to go into the Vikings by History Channel Display. It was definitely an experience I won’t forget, you’ll have to see it for yourself to understand.  They gave us no warning, so you get none either. Just go.

The best part of the day for me was going into “American Gods” booth, as it is one of my favorite books by Neil Gaiman. I can’t wait to see how Starz does with the show.

Cosplay was all around of us. There was your standard super heroes and Villains everywhere. A few that stood out for me were the gentleman dressed up a Mc Thor, a group of guys as the Golden Girls ( they even had the theme song playing as they walked around).

And lastly, a girl dressed up as Vanellope Von Schweetz from Wreck it Ralph. She did an amazing job on her costume which included her race car.

All in all, it was a great way to start a weekend at Comic-con.  We can’t wait to see what day two brings.
