Be sure to stop by CreepIE Con in Ontario, CA this weekend to see hundreds of the Inland Empires horror craze fans and vendors. We will be at booth #32. Mention this comic for a FREE ZKS patch.

Every so often, geeks get a chance to have an epic experience meeting their heroes and idols.  If we’re lucky, we accidentally bump into them at conventions and have a brief, flustered moment where we blurt out things like, “OMGILOVEYOUYOUAREMYHEROPLEASESIGNTHISICANTBREATHEWHATSMYNAMEAGAIN!?!?!

Oh …maybe that’s just me?

ANYway…

Rare is the moment when a true fan is able to immerse themselves in the culture of their favorite thing in a small room where the creator can be seen casually wandering around, the voices of your idols are willing to take photos and listen to you no matter how flustered you sound, and the friends and family of cast and crew are hanging out as though they’re just regular folks, totally approachable and kind to everyone.

Guys, my five year old got to have that moment.

That’s right, my five year old had that golden experience most fans wait lifetimes to have.  It took place at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra last night at the opening of the #FarewellToTheFalls exhibit, dedicated to the two-season hit on Disney XD; Gravity Falls, created by Alex Hirsch.

ALA Dark Horizons

A photo has emerged giving us an extreme close-up of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man mask in the upcoming reboot “The Amazing Spider-Man 3D” at Sony Pictures.

The look is definitely very different to that of Tobey Maguire’s much more high tech and sleek looking number from the Sam Raimi films, certainly the eyes are completely different:

Meanwhile Entertainment Weekly has posted a new shot of the cover for next week’s issue featuring Garfield in the costume. That’s included below.

Finally, Superhero Hype reports that the first trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man” will hit theaters next week with select prints of “Captain America: The First Avenger”.

With all the fuss over “Thor” and “X-Men” of late, and with “Green Lantern” also keeping busy, “Captain America” marketing has been pretty quiet the last month or two.

Now it’s about to ramp up again as Cinemarcado have released three international character posters from the feature including a good look at Hugo Weaving in full Red Skull face. Grrrr.

Thanks to Dark Horizons

Sony Pictures announced today that their upcoming reboot of the “Spider-Man” film franchise has finally scored a name – “The Amazing Spider-Man”. At the same time they’ve also released a new shot of Andrew Garfield in costume, the first official shot of him donning both the famous mask and suit.

Yesterday was chock full of awesome.  Forbidden Panel would like to thank everyone that came out for the event.  Big thanks to the Cobra 3rd Nightwatch, Semantink,  Draw Hard Studios, 4 Color Fantasies, The 501st legion, Fanboy Headquarters, LA Geeks, IDASAS, and all the other talented artists and vendors that came out. Check out the pics below and stay tuned for the next event.
