Man Of Steel Blu-Ray Gets Hours Of Special Features, DVD Gets… Minutes?
The supplements on the Blu-ray edition of Man of Steel will run to several hours. According to the Warner Bros. official announcement we can look forward to:
- Journey of Discovery: Creating “Man of Steel” – This immersive feature-length experience allows you to watch the movie with director Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and others as they share the incredible journey to re-imagine Superman.
- Strong Characters, Legendary Roles – Explore the legendary characters of the Superman mythology and how they have evolved in this new iteration of the Superman story.
- All-Out Action – Go inside the intense training regimen that sculpted Henry Cavill into the Man of Steel and Michael Shannon and Antje Traue into his Kyptonian nemeses. Includes interviews with cast and crew.
- Krypton Decoded – Dylan Sprayberry (Clark Kent, age 13) gives the lowdown on all the amazingKrypton tech, weapons and spaceships featured in “Man of Steel.”
- Planet Krypton – The world’s first exploration of Krypton and its lost society.
Unfortunately for the non-Blu-ray friendly,* the DVD release only includes the shorter featurettes Strong Characters, Legendary Roles, All Out Action and Krypton Decoded.
Nobody gets a commentary track, or one of those “Maximum Movie Mode” picture-in-picture commentary-ish things that Zack Snyder hosted on the 300, Watchmen and Sucker Punch Blu-rays.
The US release is set for November 12th, with the options including 2-disc DVD, Blu-ray plus DVD plus Ultraviolet combo pack, another combo pack also including Blu-ray 3D, and then a schmancy version of that fattest pack in an S-shield box with some extra bobbins.
That so-called 3D Limited Collector’s Edition will look like this:
