R.I.P. Carrie Fisher
We all remember our first don’t we? The first time we see them on screen. The first time we hang their poster on the wall. The first time we watch another movie just because they are in it. Our first celebrity crush. Well, she was mine.
I first “met” Carrie Fisher in the iconic role of Princess Leia in Star Wars when it came out in 1977. I was only 4 at the time but I knew then that we had something special. The way she lit up the screen was magical for me.
I followed her on to some of the other films she was in. Always looking out for that smile and twinkle in her eye. I was surprised by her cameos and even more impressed by her writing. And when she made her big comeback, there was no one more excited than me.
It now saddens me that she has passed. She had managed to work her way into the lives of millions of fans throughout the world. We will miss you Carrie. We will miss your candor and honesty. But most of all, we will miss your smile.
Carrie Fisher is survived by her mother, Debbie Reynolds and daughter, Billie Lourd. We here at Forbidden Panel send them and her friends and family and her millions of fans our condolences.
