Spooky Movie Month Day #11 – Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales

October 11th

Today we were late, busy and tired, so we opted for a short story before bed. The 48 minute “Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales” turned out to be the perfect, late-night addition to our spooky movie series!

Directed by Ken Cunningham, written by David Shayne and follows Poe Dameron as he and BB-8 face their fears on Musaifar with a force-wielding kid named Dean. In the story, they wander the halls of Vader’s old castle, being renovated to become the latest hotel and resort location. As they go through each new door, a new story is told and unfolds before them. It was released in 2021, but apparently we missed it because none of us remembered having seen it before!

Dragon was thankful we didn’t watch something actually terrifying and loved this collection of spooky stories. They said it felt comforting and nostalgic, having been watching the Lego Star Wars movies since they were very small and were always a favorite. Lego Star Wars was also their first video game at age three.

Lion thought it was fun and interesting but was disappointed to find none of the “tales” were cannon to the Star Wars Universe.

They both decided their favorite of the tales was, “The Lost Boy”, which parodied The Lost Boys with Kylo as Michael and the leader of the Knights of Ren (voiced by Christian Slater) as David. They loved how the even included the train bridge scene!

Hope all out there are enjoying their spooky season! Tomorrow the Mothership continues along our haunted path toward Halloween! Stay tuned to see what we do next!
