Spooky Movie Month Day #24 – Break & a Sneak Peak of Sunday’s Concert
October 24th
Today has been a busy day of shopping, prop-building, zombifying clothing and working on final details for Forbidden Panel’s Zombie Pageant. Only THREE days away, we’re in serious crunch time as we work to bring you the best zombies on the block with outrageous talents, ready to take on the title of royalty.
Not much to report, The Inland Master Chorale concert is this coming Sunday afternoon and we had a brutal, long and awesome rehearsal tonight with our guest orchestra. I’m exhausted, sung out and going to bed.
While not at all Halloween themed, the music and message is powerful, poignant and synchronistically timed with all that is going on in our world. It’s an honor to present these works, especially at this moment in our world’s history.
Here’s an example of the text from one of the pieces we are performing:
“Word over all, beautiful as the sky,
Beautiful that war and all its deeds of carnage must in time be utterly lost,
That the hans of the sisters Death and Night incessantly, softly, wash again and ever again
This soiled world.”
– Walt Whitman
If you are interested and able, I’d love to see you there!
Check out my post with all the details here, and stay tuned for tomorrow, as The Mothership travels nearly 100 years back in time to see our next spooky cinematic masterpiece!
