The Shortwave Cult Wants You!

Hello! My name is James Muro. I have been asked by the good people from The Forbidden Panel to join the team as a contributing writer. My beat will cover subjects such as music, films, and books. I have a particular interest in some obscure stuff, but that is by no means all I will write about. I will go where my heart and the muse take me.

Perhaps I should tell you a little about myself. I grew up in Redlands, California during the 80’s and 90’s. I’m active in community theatre in the Inland Empire and I work at Chaffey College.

I am a lifelong fan of music, films, comics, Star TrekStar Wars, and cartoons. Pink Floyd is my favorite band. Some of my favorite films include 2001: A Space Odyssey, All the President’s Men, Bugsy Malone, Casablanca, Clue, Cradle Will Rock, Ed Wood, Ghostbusters, Harold and Maude, Joe Versus the Volcano, My Own Private Idaho, Viy, and West Side Story. My favorite novel is Dostoyevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov. My all-time favorite television shows are The Twilight Zone, In Search of…, NewsRadio, Mr. Show with Bob and David, Young Justice, and Over the Garden Wall.

The occult, folklore, history, psychology, mythology, horror, cults, paranormal and unexplained phenomena, and UAEs are other areas of interest. I suspect that my contributions to Forbidden Panel will cover any of the above-mentioned topics.

I was honored to be asked to contribute to this site. When I was invited to participate, the request was also made for me to come up with a name for my column. After giving it some serious thought, I have decided to call my column The Shortwave Cult. It conjures up some cool images in my mind, and I think it’s just a nice name. At the risk of seeming cryptic, I won’t get into it anymore. I look forward to whatever may come of this. Love, peace, and chicken grease.
