Batman Animated Series Gets Vinyl Score Set

Ahead of Batman Day, Mondo has announced it will release a vinyl box set featuring the remastered musical scores from sixteen of the most famous episodes of the classic 1990s “Batman: The Animated Series”.

Mondo commissioned Justin Erickson from Phantom City Creative created new artwork for each of the eight vinyl covers that make up the set including art inspired by still iconic episodes like “Heart of Ice,” “Two-Face Parts 1 & 2” “Beware the Gray Ghost,” “Almost Got ‘Im,” “Dreams in Darkness,” “The Man Who Killed Batman,” “Joker’s Favor,” “If You’re So Smart, Why Aren’t You Rich?,” “On Leather Wings,” “Mudslide,” “Vendetta,” “Fire From Olympus,” “Harlequinade,” “Terror in the Sky” and “Deep Freeze”.

There’s also six 4×6-inch screen-printed handbills featuring assorted villains as they appeared in the “Almost Got ‘Im” episode.

What’s not clear is that Phantom City Creative also did Mondo-commissioned art for a vinyl version of the show’s iconic theme song – music printed on a vinyl record actually cut into the Batman symbol. That is listed on their official site, but doesn’t appear to be a part of this set.

“Batman: The Animated Series” vinyl box set will be available for preorder in November. Bigger versions of some of the art can be found at the Phantom City Creative site.
