CW Fast Tracks “The Flash” TV Series

The CW is reportedly fast tracking a series based on the DC Comics hit “The Flash”.

The series, which comes from “Arrow” creatures Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, is expected to exist in the same universe as that show.

The character is expected to appear in a late second season episode of “Arrow” in the first half of next year before starring in his own pilot probably in time for Fall 2014.

Director David Nutter and writer/DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns are also involved in the project which would mark the second time the character has fronted his own series.

The first was the 1990 TV series starring John Wesley Shipp as Barry Allen, though it’s not sure if the Barry Allen version of the Flash will be the character that leads this potential series. Kyle Gallner played a version of The Flash in the young Superman series “Smallville”.
