Pence Is Young Ra’s Al Ghul In “Knight Rises”?

From Dark Horizons

Josh Pence is a guy who most recently starred in David Fincher‘s “The Social Network”, but even if you’ve seen it you wouldn’t recognise him.

That’s because the model and actor played one of the Winklevoss twins in the movie during production, a role that meant his head was digitally replaced in post-production with Armie Hammer’s in the scenes requiring both twins to appear simultaneously.

Now, Pence will get some proper time in front of the camera as he has scored a role in Christopher Nolan‘s final Batman film “The Dark Knight Rises” reports Heat Vision.

What’s surprising about this news is that what role he is playing seems to have leaked out and gives away a hint as to the film’s storyline. His role? A young Ra’s Al Ghul.

According to the report, Pence will be seen in flashbacks set three decades prior to the events in ‘Rises’, leading to speculation we will see the previous attempt by the League of Shadows to bring down Gotham City through an economic collapse – events the older Ra’s (Liam Neeson) made reference to in “Batman Begins”.

As previously reported Marion Cotillard was in discussions for a role in the film which was rumoured to be Ra’s daughter Talia, does this indicate that possibility is now more likely?

The other interesting potential is what this means for the overall story. Is the League making another attempt at Gotham City? With Ra’s having failed to enlist Bruce as the leader of his army the last time, could Talia have taken over and installed Bane in the same position?

Pence joins a cast that currently is confirmed to include Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Juno Temple.
