Activision have unveiled their in-development Walking Dead game, a first person shooter focusing on Merle and Daryl Dixon before they reach Atlanta, with Daryl being the player character. Here’s the first trailer.
That came from IGN, who have been made privy to some details of the game. Apparently, ammunition and food will be in short supply, preventing the game from being the full-on splat ‘em up my lazy ass might have preferred. At least crossbow bolts are recoverable and reusable.
It will be possible to get NPCs to team up and join Daryl on his quest to reach Atlanta, or you might prefer to leave them behind. Maybe handcuff them to the fixtures and fittings and leave them to die? That’d be a fun irony.
The Walking Dead game will be released in 2013, for Playstation 3, X-Box 360 and PC. Hannah Shaw-Williams is going to do a backflip over this news. Expect her to cover it very closely for us.
